Fantasy drama starring David Kross as Krabat, a young man whose family has been wiped out by a plague. He becomes an apprentice in a mill where he learns dark sorcery and discovers the evil nature of his master. While taking part in an annual ritual, Krabat meets and falls for a girl from the village of Schwarzkolm and learns that to protect her from his wicked master he must keep her identity hidden. After a devastating event, Krabat becomes determined to escape from the mill, but this proves to be an extremely dangerous plan...
